BiographyHistory

Vaux was transported to New South Wales on three occasions as a convict. He spent various periods of time in Australia from 1801 onwards. He was employed by Governors, clergy and the colonial administration in a range of clerical pursuits due to his writing abilities. Barron Field assisted Vaux in the publication of his memoirs.
