BiographyHistory

Patrick Alexander studied acting in London and, after moving to Australia, lived in Sydney and Melbourne. He published four collections of his poetry and his poems have also been published in small magazines. Alexander was reknowned as a performance poet. From 1983-2004 he was the only artist to produce an event for every Melbourne Fringe Festival. In honour of his contribution the Festival named the spoken performance prize the Patrick Alexander Memorial Award.
