BiographyHistory

Anna Maria Bunn wrote the first novel by a woman published in Australia: The Guardian, A Tale. Bunn grew up in Ireland; her mother died when she was six, and her father spent much of her childhood in Portugal with the 2nd Brigade of Foot Guards.
