A graphic artist and a performance poet in Tasmania, Bruce Penn 'left school early and was educated in a variety of jobs from bank-teller to bush cook. Much of the work [in Feral Pedestrian] comes from the years he spent caring for his two sons, hand-building the family cottage, and driving the local school bus. He conducts poetry and drawing workshops in schools and with teenage offenders, psychiatric outpatients, disabled people and senior citizen groups.' (Source: back cover, Feral Pedestrian 1995).
