BiographyHistory

'Bronwen Bennett is a qualified teacher and librarian who spent twenty three years bringing children and literature together as the Junior School Librarian at Carey Baptist Grammar School between 1976 and 1999. In 1996 she was the winner of the Dromkeen Librarian's Award and on 8th August 2008, she was presented with the 6th Euphemia Tanner Award for services to children's literature at the 6th Bendigo Children's Literature Conference.

Bennett has a strong commitment to the promotion of Australian children's literature and is a Past President of the Children's Book Council of Australia's (Victorian Branch). In addition to this, she is also a Past President of the Dromkeen Society. From November 2006, Bronwen Bennett was National President of the Children's Book Council of Australia for a two year term, a position she relinquished in November 2008.'

In 2009 Bennett became the inaugural chairperson of the Australian Children's Literature Alliance.
