BiographyHistory

Turner was educated at Baskin University and the University of Houston, Clear Lake. He arrived in Australia as an adult and settled in South Australia with his Australian wife. As well as his novels, Turner has written two feature film screenplays: 'Big John' (a 1920s sports biopic based on the true story of Native American fullback, Big John Levi), and the modern-day action-adventure, 'The Black Knight'. He is also the author of The Earth of Your Soul: A Collection of Poems (1979 ) and a successful cookbook The Spud Book : 101 Ways to Cook Potatoes (1981), both written before his arrival in Australia.
