Caroline Lurie worked mainly in publishing until 1980, after which she started a literary agency in Melbourne. Elizabeth Jolley (q.v.) was one of the first authors to join the agency. Lurie also represented John Bryson, Kate Grenville and Tim Winton (qq.v.). In 1993 Lurie sold her agency in order to spend time working with Australian Volunteers Abroad.
Lurie has written occasional articles and book reviews.
