BiographyHistory

Mayne migrated from Ireland to Australia, arriving in Sydney in December 1845. In July 1858 he moved to Queensland as manager of 'Coochin Coochin' station and later occupied positions at 'Borongo', 'Jimbour', 'Traveston' and other pastoral stations. His wife was Helen Alexa Mayne. Mayne joined the public service shortly before his death in Brisbane on the 8th August 1891.
