BiographyHistory

Australian justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria and expert in criminology.

A prolific writer, most of Barry's work was in the field of criminology. A long-serving lawyer and strong opponent of the death penalty, Barry was a foundation member of the Department of Criminology at the University of Melbourne. He was knighted in 1961.
