Hilary Bell is a graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), and the Julliard Playwrights' Program (New York). Best known for writing stage drama, Bell has also written for radio, opera, television, and film.
Among her work for television are scripts for short-lived soap opera Echo Point (1995), children's puppet show The Ferals (1995), and Australian-New Zealand co-production Mirror, Mirror (1995): her novel based on the latter series won the Aurealis Award (young adult division) in 1996.
