BiographyHistory

Michael (or Mike) Johnson's career as an illustrator began with a six-year apprenticeship as a lithographic artist and three years in book design with the UK educational publishing house E.J. Arnold. Since then he has worked at various jobs in advertising and illustrating, including postage stamp design and creating board games and jigsaws. For seven years he was a senior designer and illustrator with Rowntree Macintosh (Nestlé) Packaging. He now lives in Adelaide and works as a freelance illustrator. Mike is a member of the Society of Industrial Artists and of the Chartered Society of Designers.
