'Benjamin Sidney' was Harold Hyam Glass, a judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales who presided on the Court of Appeal 1974-1987. He was educated at Sydney Boys High School 1930-1934 and gained a B.A. and LL.B. from the University of Sydney. 'Benjamin Sidney' enlisted in the Australian Army on 10 January 1940 and from 1942 to 1946 was in the Royal Australian Navy. He was admitted to the Bar in 1948 and became a Q.C. in 1961. 'Benjamin Sidney' was a member of the New South Wales Bar Council and taught at the University of Sydney Law School. 'Benjamin Sydney' also wrote, as Harold Glass, The Liability of Employers for Damages in Personal Injury (1966) and edited Seminars on Evidence (1970).
