As well as being a novelist, Evan Green worked in public relations and advertising, and as a radio and television journalist.
He was perhaps best known for his adventure thrillers, which are often set in the outback and draw upon his experiences as a journalist reporting on car races across Australia. These novels are an accessible combination of action, mystery and romance. Many of the novels were a commercial success and were subsequently adapted for film and television. Apart from his novels, Green was well-known for his motor car racing books and for Journeys with Gelignite Jack (Adel: Rigby, 1966), a biography of motor car racer Jack Murray.
