Print and television journalist, sciptwriter and novelist, Bill Green was also the founding co-editor of the Saturday Review (later Nation Review). He worked as press secretary to Dr. Jim Cairns and was active in left-wing politics for much of his life though never a member of a political party.
After his time as a press secretary, Green helped found the creative writing course at RMIT. He taught at RMIT, specialising in screen writing. He and his wife Helen Green owned a bookshop, Slightly Bent Books, in Williamstown, Melbourne, moving the shop to Talbot 2006.
