Colin Golvan is a literary agent, author, broadcaster and barrister. He has also written for radio and television and contributed feature articles to newspapers and journals.
As the son of Jewish immigrants from Europe, he has had a special interest in the way Jews came to Australia and adjusted to a very different culture. In 1988 he wrote and presented 'The Distant Exodus' for ABC Radio, which explored the immigration experience of Jews between 1939 and 1950. A book on the subject was subsequently published by ABC Enterprises.
Colin Golvan is a Senior Counsel at the Victorian Bar. In his capacity as barrister, Golvan has represented several Aboriginal groups in major cases involving alleged breaches of intellectual copyright and has spoken widely on the many issues raised by these cases. He has also written books on various other aspects of the law, including copyright and intellectual property.
