BiographyHistory

George Chamier lived in various Australian states (New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia) as well as New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Germany. The intended publication of Chamier's novel, 'The Story of a Successful Man: An Australian Romance' (1893?), was prevented by the sudden death of the publisher (see article by Carol Franklin listed below). In addition to his novels, Chamier wrote pamphlets on Australian timber and on engineering.
