BiographyHistory

Rives was a member of one of America's oldest families and the wife of prominent American diplomat George Post Wheeler, who was the American Ambassador to Japan in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. They married in 1906. Rives authored The Modern and Complete Book of Etiquette (1926). As a novelist she wrote several best sellers, though only one was published in an Australian edition.
