As outlined in the previous case -study, librarians from the US Information Service Library in Sydney helped achieve better Australian books for children. Their concern resulted in a meeting in Sydney in 1945 which resolved to establish an annual Children's Book Week as well as an annual award for the best children's book.’(Introduction 293)
