BiographyHistory

Lola Kalemi finished high school in Kallithea and emigrated because of family poverty. Settling in Melbourne, she stayed until the middle of the 1970s when she returned permanently to Greece. She was for some time vice-president of the Association of Greek Writers of the Commonwealth of Australia (SELAS) in Melbourne. Her poetry has also been published in Greek-language periodicals, including Ta Nea, a Melbourne weekly newspaper.
