BiographyHistory

Alison Gibbs was born in 1963 and grew up in the towns and villages of northern New South Wales. She later settled in Sydney’s inner-west where she runs a writing consultancy, producing copy for United Nations Agencies and the not-for-profit sector. Her stories have been published and broadcast in Australia, the UK and the USA and have received numerous short-listings and awards, including the 2021 Griffith Review Emerging Voices Prize. Alison has a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of Technology Sydney. Her debut novel Repentance was completed with the help of a Varuna PIP Fellowship and published by Scribe in 2021.
