Alicia Sometimes was born in Dandenong, Victoria, in the early 1970s. She is a writer, performer, musician, and poet. She has appeared on many spoken-word CDs, and her work has been published in various journals in Australia and the United States. the author of two collections of poetry, she has also co-edited a collection of football stories, From the Outer, for Black Inc. and in 2017 put together, with her co-editor, A Footy Girl's Guide to the Stars for the inaugural season of the AFLW.
She has been a co-editor of the literary journal Going Down Swinging, and also a poetry teacher at RMIT and Chisholm TAFE.
She presented the program 'Aural Text', on Melbourne alternative radio station 3RRR, for fourteen years, and later formed part of the Outer Sanctum podcast.
