1 y separately published work icon Phoenix and Ralph Barbie Robinson , Ian Robertson (illustrator), Kambah : Writing With Light , 2023 26835736 2023 single work picture book children's 'As fires raged across the land, neighbours helped neighbours and prepared for what was to come. Afterwards, people did what they could for each other, grieving all that was lost. But nature is resilient, and people are kind and recovery gradually came about. Some people rebuilt their houses; others moved away. The birds returned, and eucalypts regrew. This book is an object of community memory, a lament for the human and natural losses caused by climate disasters like the Canberra firestorm of 2003 and the Australia-wide fires of the summer of 2019-2020. But it's also a song of thanks to our tireless emergency workers and strong communities. It's an homage to the magpies who returned to our suburbs with their glorious song. It's a plea to act on climate change. And it's a story of hope.'

'‘When our dads say, ‘Money doesn’t grow on trees you know,’ Grandma smiles and says, ‘Mmm, but knickers do.’

'WHAT?! Grandma’s got an underpants tree? She sure has and you know what else? It blooms all year round with all kinds of knickers to suit everyone in the family.

'But one morning, Grandma finds her precious tree has been attacked with knickers strewn all over the garden. Grandpa and the grandkids spring into action, setting up an after dark stakeout.

'Will the kids be able to stay awake long enough to find out whodunnit?’

'A charming story about the importance of gardens, grandparents and families doing things together.' (Publication summary)
