BiographyHistory

Ursel Fitzgerald was born in Wilhelmshaven on the North Sea and grew up in post-war Germany. She spent three years in America before migrating to Australia and settling in Geelong. Fitzgerald gained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Literature and Philosophy from Deakin University. From the late 1980s she worked at Deakin University as a part-time assessor.
