Ransome Wyatt was Registrar in the Anglican Diocese of Goulburn when he enlisted for World War I on 7 September 1916 aged 30. He returned to Australia on 22 May 1917. He married Phyllis Carver, also of Goulburn, in 1920.
Wyatt also published The Digger on the Durham (1919), a book of illustrations of life on a World War I troopship on the voyage home to Australia.
