BiographyHistory

Born in the village of Raxa Trikalon, George Katsaros became a graduate in Philosophy from Athens University in 1964. He left Greece following the colonels' coup d'etat, arriving in Australia with his family in April 1968.

After working in factories and small businesses, Katsaros graduated from La Trobe University with a Dip. Ed. and later gained a postgraduate degree studying at the University of New England, New South Wales. Katsaros has taught in Victorian schools and was subsequently responsible for introducing the Modern Greek syllabus into the high school curriculum in Victoria.

Katsaros has been a member of a Greek Authors Association and has published drama, short stories and poems. His articles have appeared in Antipodes and Makedonikos Logos.
