BiographyHistory

Nyiyija was knowledgeable in the use of many different flora and documented them. Nyiyija was also knowledgeable of different dialects in Dyirbal language and knew much of his Djulgubarra Mamu culture. Jarabirrjan was Nyiyija's mothers name, his father was Arthur Watson. Nyiyija learnt much of his Mamu culture from his mother's father Nyaywi. His grandmother was one of many Aboriginal people murdered by the explorer Christie Palmerston.
