BiographyHistory

After a brief career in the Royal Navy, and a period studying law, Adams migrated to New South Wales, changing his surname from Herbert to Adams on arrival. He became involved in various business enterprises in Sydney, and also worked as a journalist for the Empire and the Sydney Morning Herald. Under his various pseudonyms, Adams contributed journalism and poetry to a variety of Australian and English periodicals.
