BiographyHistory

George Odgers studied at the Univesity of Western Australia and completed a Master of Arts at Melbourne University. He worked as a journalist on the Argus and The Age. Odgers served with the Australian armed forces in World War II, the Korean War, the Malayan Emergency and in Vietnam. A war historian, he later became the head of historical studies in the Department of Defence.
