BiographyHistory

Constable arrived in Australia at the age of nine. In 1979 she completed a Bachelor of Arts(English and History) at Monash University and a Diploma of Education in 1980 at Latrobe University. From 1981 she lived in South Gippsland, teaching in secondary schools and working in public libraries. Walking the Mountain Ash forests of the Strzeleckis inspired the co-writing of A Proposal for a 30,000 Hectare National Park in the Strzecki State Forest and a history of the campaigns to protect these forests.
