BiographyHistory

Finzi-Contini was born in Bologna but then lived in Milan for 10 years. His family returned to the Bologna region to escape the bombing of Milan during World War II. In Tattered Freedom, Finzi-Contini tells the story of the asylum and hospitality offered to his family by the people of Atessa during the war.
