BiographyHistory

'Ferres' (John William Kevin) worked as a school inspector and he took particular interest in the school library movement. He edited Poetic Selections for Schools (1882), an early collection for children that included Australian verse. His book The Ploughboy Premier included recommended reading for young people in the nineteenth century.
