BiographyHistory

Writer and cartoonist David Swain co-wrote Fitness and the Way of Sport (1968, wth Barrie Towers), and Efficient Reading (1978, with Greg Woodburne). He edited 200 in the Shade (1988), an historical selection of cartoons about Australian Aborigines, and published One Thing and Another (1981), a book of humorous cartoons, as well as writing and illustrating The Holistic A-Z (1993), a humorous dictionary of holistic medicine.

Swain began Australia's first degree-level professional writing course in Canberra, mentoring many who went on to become prize-winning writers.
