Bev Braune has published poetry and critical essays in Aesthetics, Old Norse and Old Icelandic poetry, Contemporary poetry, Drama and Film in Australian and overseas books and journals. She won three Jamaica Festival Prizes in Poetry in 1976. She has also received research awards, and travel grants to the Eastern Caribbean, Europe and the USA to pursue her ideas. She has read her poetry and presented her critical work in the USA, Jamaica, Germany and Australia on radio and television, at academic conferences and as a guest of literary festivals. In 1999 and 2001 she was a guest writer on-line for Literature courses at Cogswell College and Tennessee State University in the USA.
Bev Braune holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours in Literature, Languages and Philosophy and a Master of Philosophy degree in English for her thesis, 'Absurdism and Archetypal Woman in the Plays of Eugene O'Neill,' from the University of The West Indies, Mona; and a Doctor of Creative Arts degree from the University of Wollongong for her creative and scholarly work, 'Skulváði Úlfr: Historical Lacunæ and Poetic Space.' Dr Braune lives in Sydney where she writes full-time.
