BiographyHistory

April Hersey was born at Glenbrook, NSW, in 1924. The daughter of Zora Cross and David McKee Wright, she has been a writer and journalist all her life. She has published many poems and short stories, and has written several non-fiction books. During World War II she published mystery fiction. She worked as a journalist for most of the major publications in Australia, and edited Pol magazine. In 1996 April Hersey wrote an autobiography entitled The Insulted Heart : Recovery from Bypass Surgery.
