BiographyHistory

Better known in the world of music than literature, James Glennon was a broadcaster, music critic, violinist and actor as well as an author. He acted in Adelaide Repertory Theatre in the 1920s, including in the play 'Knight Errant', which he wrote. He worked for the Australian Broadcasting Commission from the 1940s to 1964 and was Programme Director for the ABC, South Australia, for 11 years. He wrote a number of books on music, including Understanding Music, and a number in the 'Making friends with...' series.
