BiographyHistory

Renate Klein was awarded a Master of Science degree in Biology from The University of Zurich, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from London University. She has worked as a senior lecturer in Women's Studies and as Associate Professor in the School of Social and International Studies at Deakin University. For her work in this field she received the Australian Federation of University Women Georgina Sweet Fellowship in 1986 and a Deakin University residential Fellowship 1987-1989. Klein was a founding member of the Feminist International Network of Resistance to Reproductive and Genetic Engineering (FINRRAGE). Klein has published widely in the field of reproductive technology and genetic engineering.
