Smaro Kamboureli was a professor of Canadian literature, multiculturalism and postcolonial and diaspora theories, and Associate Dean, Research, for many years at the University of Victoria, Canada. In 2004 she accepted a position at the School of English and Theatre Studies, University of Guelph.
