BiographyHistory

Barbara Petrie grew up on a farm at Woodend on the Canterbury Plains of the south island of New Zealand. She attended Woodend Primary School and Rangiora High School (New Zealand), then worked as a reporter for The Press, Christchurch, before moving to Sydney. In the 1970s she helped produce and edit the Vista series of regional literary magazines. Her poems have been broadcast by ABC Radio. A novel, Light Cord, is mentioned by some bibliographers (and appears in a Libraries Australia record with the ISBN 0947333517). No holdings for this text have been traced.
