BiographyHistory

George Velkos was born in 1957, in Mesia of Macedonia, Greece. He completed his secondary education, in 1976, and the same year arrived in Adelaide. He studied Modern Greek in South Australian College of Advanced Education Adelaide Campus. During his studies he worked as a radio announcer and programmer for multicultural radio in Adelaide. He has published poetry and prose in Greece, Australia and South Africa. He is married, and has a daughter.
