BiographyHistory

A distinguished academic, Nicholas Zurbrugg worked in Australia from 1978 until 1995. He was initially lecturer and later senior lecturer at Griffith University in Brisbane. Having failed to gain a promotion to associate professor level, Zurbrugg returned to Britain where he took up the position of chair at de Monfort University. Prior to his death from a brain haemorrhage, Zurbrugg was both Professor of English and Cultural Studies and director of the Centre of Contemporary Arts at de Monfort.
