BiographyHistory

Kirpal Singh was a Colombo Plan scholar who completed his PhD at the University of Adelaide in the late 1970s. He was a foundation member of the Centre for Research in the New Literatures in English at Flinders University of South Australia.

Returning to Singapore, he has taught at the National University of Singapore and the Singapore Management University.

Kirpal Singh has edited several literary journals and has published other works of poetry, fiction and literary criticism. He is an acclaimed scholar of post-colonial literature and Southeast Asian and Singaporean writing.
