BiographyHistory

Staunton moved to Sydney from Queensland in 1940, returning in 1952 to live in Brisbane. For many years she was involved in the practice and teaching of the visual arts, before turning to writing in the 1970s. Staunton won several poetry awards and was adjudicator of many poetry competitions. Her daughter Madonna Staunton is also a poet and artist.
