Anne Ingram was a reviewer, editor, compiler and publisher of Australian children's books. In 1972 she became children's editor for William Collins and, in 1982, was appointed children's book consultant for Louis Lothian. In 1988 Ingram established the publishing house Anne Ingram Books in association with William Collins.
Ingram also compiled books of legends from other countries and wrote a series of activity 'Fun Books' and other instructional works with Peggy O'Donnell some of which were published in translation. She adapted a number of traditional stories which were illustrated by Junko Morimoto.
