BiographyHistory

Cassie Lewis grew up in Melbourne. Since 1995 her poems have appeared in many journals in Australia and in the United States, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and on the internet, and have been read on radio. Cassie Lewis' work has been anthologised in Calyx: 30 Contemporary Australian Poets (Paper Bark Press) and in New Music: Contemporary Australian Poetry (Five Islands).

She has published three chapbooks of poetry: Song for the Quartet (Soup, 1997); High Country (Little Esther, 2001) and Winter District (Potes [and] Poets, US, 2001). In 2000 Lewis and her husband moved to the United States and in 2001 she started an internet discussion forum called Poetry Espresso, the archives of which can be accessed at: www.topica.com/lists/PoetryEspresso
