BiographyHistory

Better known as a painter of birds and animals, Julie Morris studied at the South Australian Institute of Technology and worked first in retail advertising, later following up her interest in wildlife painting. She has travelled in the UK and the US as well as around Australia, studying, photographing and sketching wildlife in its natural environment, and has worked at the Taronga Zoo as a wildlife artist. She has illustrated children's books, written and illustrated Australian Mammals (Shakespeare Head Press, 1986), and has taught painting.
