'Bain Attwood was born and raised in New Zealand, and has worked and lived in Australia for the last 25 years. He was educated at the University of Waikato, the University of Auckland and La Trobe University, and has been an associate professor in the School of Historical Studies, Monash University, and Adjunct Professor in the Centre for Cross-Cultural Research, The Australian National University. He has published widely in the history of colonialism. His books include The Making of the Aborigines; A Life Together, a Life Apart; Rights for Aborigines; and Telling the Truth about Aboriginal History. His current research project is a case study of the ways in which Aboriginal sovereignty and rights to land were treated, remembered and forgotten in Australia by settlers and Aboriginal people.'
