BiographyHistory

Matt Rubinstein moved to Adelaide when he was eight, living there for fifteen years before returning to Sydney. He practised law for five years, then began writing full-time.

As well as his novels and other work listed here, he has written and co-written short films. Mona Lisa (2004) was co-written with Director Sotiris Dounoukos and has shown internationally. Paper and Sand (2006), co-written with Ian Kennedy Williams, was a finalist in two categories for the 2006 Dendy Awards, and was nominated for best Screenplay in a Short Film in the 2006 AFI awards. He has also written another film, Punch (2007).

Rubinstein is the son of writer Gillian Rubinstein (q.v.).

After an elaborate farewell dinner party attended by friends, Anu attempts to kill Joe but fails. She tries again and this time she succeeds, injecting Joe with a lethal dose of heroin.
