BiographyHistory

Madsen worked as a miner on the west coast of Tasmania, a fettled brewery worker, a baker's assistant and a teacher before starting to write seriously in 1990. He spent several years in Japan where he made his living as a professional writer. He has published short stories, poetry and feature articles in Australia, Japan, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. He later took up residence in Frankston, Victoria.
