BiographyHistory

Although Charles Melaun was the author of the novel The Squatter's Daughter, adapted from Ken Hall's film script, he was not Australian born according to F. E. Baume in the Foreword to the novel. He is classified by E. Morris Miller's Australian Literature From Its Beginnings to 1935 (1940) as a New South Wales writer and died in Sydney.
