BiographyHistory

Mathieu was educated at Shepparton and St. Joseph's School, Melbourne. After some years as a sailor, drover, digger and shearer, he lost his eyesight in north-west Queensland. Mathieu then lived in Brisbane for many years until his death. He was a foundation member of the Queensland Authors & Artists Association.
